Minnesota's Historic Structure Rehabilitation Tax Credit (MN Statute 290.0681), passed into law in 2010, has been a successful economic development tool for revitalizing distressed, vacant, and underutilized historic properties throughout the state.

To secure the economic benefits that Minnesota needs to ensure the future success of our state, we have to extend the tax credit much, much longer. This is why we have a coalition to raise awareness and engage and educate our legislators on the advantages of this tax credit for businesses, workers, and cities and towns across the state.
On Wednesday, May 24, Governor Walz held a ceremonial bill signing on the steps of the Capitol, celebrating the passage of his administration's One Minnesota budget priorities, including the HTC.
Governor Walz signed the Omnibus Tax bill on the 24th, officially renewing the Historic Tax Credit for another eight years.
The renewal of the HTC marks the culmination of three years of tireless advocacy on behalf of our coalition partners, lawmakers, and community members from every corner of the state.
